Yesterday someone asked me how to begin selling their art. Here's the gist of what I told them. What worked for me is not necessarily what will work for you. There are TONS of ways to sell art, and every artist/creator that is selling their art had to find out what worked for them. For me, I enjoy marketing so I do my own marketing online and sell that way. I don't enjoy setting up a tent and spending 3 full days standing around smiling to bystanders. But some do. Here are 2 methods that come to mind (that I've successfully used) if you're just starting out selling your art. Method #1: Look at all the common ways to sell art, and choose the one that seems most interesting and exciting to you. Then get started trying it out... ASAP. The sooner you start, the sooner you'll learn if it works for you or not. And more importantly... if you enjoy this method or not. Why does it matter if you enjoy it? Because you are artist which means you're at least kind of a sensitive person and how you feel about what you're doing matters. So if you enjoy it, you're more likely to actually do it (and get the result you want which is selling your art). Method #2: Copy what already works. Look for an artist (or more) who is currently selling their art in a way that you admire. You don't have to like their art, but you have to like the way they're selling it. Are they using a style of content you like? Are they doing local fairs? Whatever it is, copy them. Ain't no shame in it. That's all for today. I'm curious, what is you biggest challenge in selling your art? Julian |

A friend (who is a writer) just showed me a website that will write a book for you. WHY WOULD A WRITER WANT TO OUTSOURCE HIS OWN WRITING??? Are we humans becoming so lazy that we can't even bear to handle the creative process itself? Why rob ourselves of the joy of the creative process?... The rewarding moment of sitting back and gazing upon an entire book we wrote from scratch. The badge of honor shouldn't be "I wrote this in a day using AI." It should be "I wrote this without AI, 100%...
